Denis Koogan makes a complaint at this office - to wit - that his son Denis Kooogan Jr. ran away from him on the 5" inst - The Plaintiff thinks that his son has gone to Raleigh or Goldsboro N.C. to enlist which the Father objects to - Said boy is 16 years of age 5 feet 6 inches in height - complexion black.

William Murphy (Fd) makes complaint against Kane C. Williamson - to wit - that worked for said Williamson from the first of April 1865 to the 1st November 1865 working in a crop - Murphy stayed with Williamson until the crops were gathered and put in the Barn - that said Williamson agreed to give him (Murphy a good part of the crop  - that said Willimson has not kept his agreement (Murphy has not received any portion of the crop for his six months labor - said Murphy only received $20. - Said Murphy further states that he has not recd anything or made any settlement in the behalf of any person whatever with the said Williamson.
Ray McAllister makes complaint at this Office to wit - that Kane C. Williamson owes him and his two Sons Toby age 19 yrs & Lake age 18 yrs for work & labor done. Ray states that he worked for Williamson from the 1st of April 1865 to the 1st of October 1865 - that Williamson agreed to give him & his two sons a part of the crop - that Mr Williamson has given him nothing whatever for his labor - that he did not agree that Mr Williamson should settle with Bill Murphy his behalf - Mr Williamson states that he had settled with the above parties, that he was | [[/2 columned table]]

|   | brought before the Bureau (Maj. Lawrence) and it was decided that he was to pay five dollars a month instedd of dividing the crop - that he paid the money and thought the case was settled. Their is no records of any such trial on file in this office. As the case promises to become very complicated by the introduction of a large number of Witnesses on both sides and as Mr Williamson has failed to prove that the case was brought before the Bureau - I would most respectfully solicit that it be referred to the Provost Court for trial - that the plaintiffs be allowed to bring a joint action (in forma papers)
