Wed 30th June. A very good day that ended bad (at 7pm the car failed). Up with a bright sun at South Beach, breakfast in the motel, then off at 1030 (lunch over a fire on a great beach) to points south, hitting several rock shops before Yachats - then onto Purdy's Cottages So of Yachats - Olivers (Leon + Rose) not there, but walked the stony shore to the cave + found, easily several jaspers. So now, exhausted, distraught, in cabin, the whole sea + moon outside the door quite unnoticed.
[[strikethrough]] Wed June 30 [[/strikethrough]] Thurs July 1 7/. The last Oregon day. Up at 6 to confront the ocean, the view, the day, the car + the way back to Portland. Pakced, breakfasted, showered, + waited half an hour for the Avis mgr. to arrive to drive us in. Instead a kid arrived,
