clearing revealing a great lay of islands in a silver sea - peninsulas, drowned ridges - (photographed). At the airport in Vancouver, the disturbing ordeal of our bags "lost" - after 1/2 hr of waiting, we got them - they'd been stuck in a chute over the "carousel". Geo + Lil [[?]] + Cindy met us- to 456 W17 - then to Chinatown for dinner then at 9 to Tuwanek, arriving in moonlight at 11:30 - a grandness of country.
July 21 - Tuwanek! Douglas fir, steepness, calm, roughness, cedar, red snapper, crabs, boats - and oysters (supper was oysters over a grill fire on the shore - + fish - + watermelon) a ride into Sey shelt [[Sechelt]] before supper - dept store, coffee, etc - a visit to Geo's other land holdings. Moonlight over the 2 islands in the inlet - dark, deep, silvery. And so to bed, the upper bunk.
