I went to Milford to see if the rest were going or not.  Aunt S was sick.  She had the soar throat and headache so she couldn’t go.  Mrs. Portman went around and tried to gather up a crowd to go.  Several promised so I stayed up and when the time came to go Mrs. Portman Uncle Cliff and myself went.  Beatrice George and Burl came on after us as they were not ready when we left.  The lights were all out in Milford and even the C M and P Cars were stopped so it sure was dark out also very windy.  It didn’t take us very long to walk up but I was sure tired when I got there.  Rev Ricks preached.  They had 5 mourners
