Dear Sir:

I shall greatly appreciate it if you will send me detailed copies of all the schemes of classification of anthropological and general racial literature used in your institution - those used by you personally, by your department, and by your librarian.

In my present position I am much interested in the various practical systems of classification for library and filing uses.

You are probably aware that there are criticisms of the Dewey Decimal System as a satisfactory scheme for the classification of literature in several fields of science. So I am attempting to get what facts are available as contributions toward the best workable systems for the classification of anthropological and general racial literature.

Your cooperation will materially assist the investigation.

With appreciation, I am

Very sincerely yours,
A. E. Jenks,
