December 4, 1923. My dear Mr. Heye:- I take great pleasure in presenting for your consideration a report concerning the present status of the manuscript relating to Navaho Weaving. As given below, the work contains 57 chapters, all of which, with the exception of Number 17, Bayeta Blankets, are finished. I am now working on this final chapter and, after this is completed the entire work will have to be revised and a few stray field notes will have to be incorporated. It will also be necessary to go over our blanket collection again to verify certain measurements and descriptions and to examine the blankets that have been added to the collection since the last careful examination, which was nearly two years ago. I am particularly anxious to examine the two women's shawls that were procured by the Sitgreaves expedition as one of these should be used for illustration purposes. These specimens came in since my last examination. I do not know how long the revision work will be but I can assure you that all possible haste will be made to place the manuscript in your hands at the earliest possible moment. According to tentative plans the work will necessitate about a hundred plates and twentyfive [[texture?]] figures. Hoping that this information will serve your purpose I beg to remain, Cordially yours, [[?]]
