My dear George

Your letter of Sept 12th just as you were leaving for poor Tabbot was received when we were in Eliot, Me. In that you stated that you would write me the details of Talbot's loss. I wrote him at once on receiving the telegram he thoughtfully had sent to Miss J & me. I did not have his address & had to send the letter to Miss Mead to address & she sent it to his home address in N.Z. not knowing any other. I hope he receives my letter for I should not like to have him think for a moment that I had not written at such a time. Of course I do not expect any answer to my letter but I wish you could find out in a quiet way if he read it & let me know. It will relieve my mind.
