Transcription Notes:
The two pictures the writer talks about here and on the next page are of Alanson and Sally Wentworth, the grandparents of Doris (HOLMES), so the parents of Lucy (Wentworth) HOLMES. This letter was written by Arthur HOLMES. They had lived in Stoughton, MA, as well. I know I read a letter before telling about Doris wanting to complete her painting of the Wentworth home. Don't have any idea who Mort is. Can't get the name from looking at letters around this date. Mrs. Eddy became well-known. She had lived at the Wentworth home for a bit. She founded the a Christian Scientist religious group. She is also mentioned on the next page. Horace - Horace Wentworth, uncle of Doris. Believe I got that right.
