Dear Doris-
Well I am about to write you this letter after finishing my work. I had a Jacket to fix the border to & have been doing odds and ends all the morning.
Pa is just started in to shave, he is feeling all in to day , his two evenings out this week to lodge meetings, I guess, have been rather to strenuous for him, he seems to be coming down with the fashionable cold, that every one is having now a days. I had him go into the drug store and get some acconite, which he took all the evening down to the store, and that seemed to knock out the fines some what but he is lifeless to day. Dr shores came up here yesterday to see me, she is thinking now of going to Washington in April or May to spend a weeks vacation, and told me to tell you she was going to write you the first opportunity she got and the little book you gave her please her [amazinly?] and said it were awful good of you
