Dear Doris,

We are having a cold NE storm for our Sunday afternoon benefit, it has been a very disagreeable week without one pleasant day, we have hardly seen the sun this week. I have been very busy. Last Friday I went over to Brockton after that silk but they told me I should not be able to find any in the city, and I didn't, I have got but one color, that Pa brought home from Boston, and the other was N.G. just a faded pink. I will see now what Lena says, perhaps she can help us out. Our Thanksgiving passed of, with Morey as guest, in a quiet way. We had our rooster baked, with squash turnip onions & sweet potatoes and celery, also plum pudding which was good, but as I had the day or two before had three teeth extracted was handicapped to a certain extent on eating anything that required a great amt of chewing, but tried to get rid of a certain amount nevertheless, now today we had the remains of our food fricaceed [[fricasseed]] and it went pretty good the biscuits were very tender and nice. Gertrude Loring our little neighbor opposite sent me in a Thanksgiving card which I also appreciated.

I believe N.G means No good (it would match the sentence) -Grace
