Pa has got his letter written first, and is now busy cutting his toe nails. While he was gone to muster yesterday I took the time to wash his everyday pants, they are clean and ready to Monday now. We took off our screen doors too soon, for since then the flies have come in to bother us. during those two hot days Thursday & Friday we had to open the doors was so warm, we never remember such weather in October before, today a fire seems comfortable, the nights are lovely a moon all night. Lena is having some old clothes fixed up, her sister has sent her down a box of, I presume, old clothes, hope they are some good to her. By the way Pa says you better tell Doris that the night dress cloth is costly, Sids are costing four dollars for material now shall I get the cloth for one for you and make that up, or wait and see if it wont go down some before I start in with the other, its up top you now to decide. I got the cloth down here at .39 good material not very wide. It costs .40 to go to Brockton & I could do as well down here. My butcher made a mistake of one dollar on the meat I ordered yesterday which kept me stewed up all day yesterday so you see how things like that work one up it came out all right though.
