Doris
Yesterday Henry Trollop asked me if I would take some Hay from one of his hen houses as he wanted to use the house it seems a year ago he saved it to feed a goat he was thinking to get milk for the children but no goat. so early this morning took wheelbarrow and secured enough to last the horse for three weeks I should think I dug a hill or two of Potatoes and they apeared [[appeared]] pretty good better than Drake's close by I used better seed. There was a grand wedding at the Drake's Wednesday as you will see by the papers which I shall [[start?]] this week to you, and in hopes to get the [[?]] your mother told as being home, Saved, and ready this Fall. to [[bring?]]. I shall have to go over the Roofs at the old Leare as soon as they get dried & hard the fall rains, there is to be a meeting at the Cemetry [[Cemetery]] this afternoon but doubt if I go. as we had one Tuesday

Transcription Notes:
many words are illegible or mispelled and hard to decipher The TROLLOPE family are mentioned. Also on censuses. Wanted to give "Pa" hay which he had to feed a goat, which would provide milk for kids. Think he meant to say "send" the papers. Cemetery - not Cemetary.
