Stoughton July 4th 1920

Dear Doris
Well this is a pretty pleasant day after yesterdays cold storm. I have got but little to do today as Lena went to Williamstown Friday, her sister had the "check" to send for her to come up and take care of her household, while she came down to Boston to see about her teeth that are troubling her. Knowing L was going on her travels, so that will be postponed for a fortnight and then she and Miss Bollins intend to start for their vacation. Winnie gave Pa a box of her strawberries to take home the other night, they have a nice bed of them. She took Richard in town again to see a doctor and he told her the reason he didn't talk was that there was something on the spine. Did you ever see such fools, it doesn't seem as if they could deceive themselves much longer thought he looks just like an idiot.
