Dear Doris

Well I have just finished the petticoat and now I will write the letter. Mr Morey has been to dinner, we had a roast of pork with a bunch of home raised asparagus; can of peas, that were dilicious by the way, and a whipped cream pie and after dinner Lina made candy which was also good, out of brown sugar and put in nuts. We are having a cold storm that chills one thru, I suppose its our usual May storm I have been very busy all the week and feel pretty tired, so I guess I will leave that other petticoat till there is a lull in jackets and I feel that I can take more time for it, two will go you for a while any how, of course there is not a great deal of wear in the cloth, but they will be cool for summer and thats something and theres more where that comes from. Our Lilac bush is in bloom so we can have that for decoration clove bush will have gone bye. I have begun to set out the plants for summer, I have got lots of guameums to put out, we are going to dig up around the rose bushes and so put some out there I have planted potatoes in every available place. Pa is going to plant peanuts for fun. Pa is snoozing in his chair with a plate of Linas candy by his side. Ralph was here Monday night to see Pa on business and said that Maud stuck in bed with a sorethroat and had the doctor, but I guess it was nothing serious, he is growing stout guess he is in much better condition than he was a year ago, says he has put on thirty pounds lately, I hear that he has sold the old factory building that joins the Beals estate and is going to be moved off up Prospect St to the South Station neighborhood for a candy factory.
