Dear Doris

After doing my Sunday cleaning up I will begin now my weekly letter. after three days of storm, it has now decided to clear up and grow colder, we are afraid. although this morning it is warm with the wind in the South.

Wednesday I went up to Lenas she had quite a few at her reception, having started early I was the first one there, then came Lottie Crane and Charlotte, Minnie Sirrell and Louisa Smiths baby, Gertrude Holmes, Alice Seele and Mattie Bell Capen, we all sat down to supper, composed of a large wedding cake beautifully frosted, and donated by her nice Alice Norten. a light cake full of citron and little cakes. vanilla creams, I guess, dates white grapes and tea. the room was prettily trimmed up with yellow creep paper, and they had finger bowls with a rose geranium leaf in each dish She took us in Lottie Charlotte and myself, in first before the rest came and we had a nice time around the table
