Pa is busy diggin up, and I have just been trying to impress it upon his mind, that there is another day coming, and that he is not as young as he once was, the soil is so melow, after the last few rains, that he can't resist it and I am afraid he will get lamed up as he is not used to it. I am baking bread and have got a squash pie ready to bake at the same time. it is a lovely day and warm. I suppose you are off riding in the new car today. I have got Pa's flannels that he has taken off to wash and if they are to get dry today I had better be about it.

We have not seen or heard anything of Lena yet, and don't know but what she has migrated to a warmer climate, like the other tender bipeds. I wish the jays would go too they still screech around the old pine tree, and it drives me wild sometimes so I guess the screech Owl is still there but the fail to rout him out he knows he is safe from their fury.
