Stoughton April 26th 1925

Dear Doris -

I will now begin the letter as I have just come in from watching Pa do some planting. this morning is mild with the wind in the south, after a few April showers during the night.

The weather has been cold we in fact have had all kinds of weather from winter to spring then today summer. I was afraid of my Peach buds during Sunday and Mondays snow storm and freeze. but today they are all blossomed out, so guess they were saved. the smaller tree has got the most buds and I hope we will be able to find out what the fruit will be like. It seems good to be able to go out although I cant do as I want to, it lames me up and I am stiff like an old horse my age must be against me dont you think. I have been kiting around abit this week. I started for Maudes one afternoon but did'nt get only as far as Morts they seemed so cordial I hadnt the time to go any farther as I was going to cook some fresh berries for our supper. Pa had such an appetite after tramping out of doors all day, that I look out to have hearty food for each meal.
