We were going to plant our flower seeds in the hot bed today but its so cold and rainy we cant tomorrow is a holiday with us but it will be a cold stormy day so there will be nothing doing outside too bad for the Concord & Lexington crowd, such a time is expected in Boston this kind of weather will be so disappointing.

We have dug up some of our strawberries and set them out on the new land where our, rubbish pile was, and put-in a white rose and the [[beusault?]] bush, where they were dug up (Pa's notion) so the next day I set out some more vines, right throu where he had planted his beet seed, so something ought to grow don't you think? my father would say "that's all a d--dwoman knows". I had Ring over here digging up some quince bushes that we gave him, and gave him rose bushes also, most all of his shrubs we have given him, but he takes excelent care of them, and his place is looking fine this year. his wife is sick a bed with a sore throat, he came over to telephone to the doctor last night. they are having the Fischers paper the house all over, and have been upset for more than a week, so no wonder she is sick, she is worried to pieces over Mrs Griffins ferns she was keeping for her she had to put them down cellar and they were not looking so well, so wanted me to come over to see them. I told her not to worry they would be all right, let her come home and take care of them as she should it wasnt her fault. Gertrude and stanley have gone down to Nantasket to day to clean up their cottage he thinks now that they wont go till the first of June. he came over and disconected our radio during the thunder storm. and then the next day put on our switch so now we can turn it off if one comes up suddenly. he is good to us and comes over often Ma
