Dear Doris

We were glad to hear that the box arrived safe at least, for it was sent a Monday noon and we heard nothing from it 'till the next week a Wednesday.

You wanted to know what we sent you a jersey dress for? Well when Lena was here she had a one piece jersey on, she bought the year before, and it was warm and trim looking. Mrs Dykeman came in at the time, and said they were made right here in town, down to the Shawmont Mills and that Howard had bought lots of them for people in Hingham and gave her one as it was near your brith day I got the idea into my head that it might be a sensible present for you, so sent Pa down there to see them, they had the notice posted on the door no more retailing suits, and he said to Young Meade he guessed what he had come for was of no use then, and Meade says "not necessarily' and asked if he knew Rudolph and Pa said 'I guess I do' so Rudolph let him have a sample and at cost five dollars, so we don't think we were very much imposed upon, and I think Pa had good taste in picking it out, even Winer told him he knew what was pretty, so Doris we think you need have no more scruples about the suit but to put it on and have the good of it. Now you have the whole story you have been acheing for.
