Well this is a mean day with us for when we woke up this morning it was snowing after such a nice warm sunny day of yesterday. The next two months I expect will be winter weather, sames as we had it last year, we are having terrible icy going this week.
Wednesday Mr Andrews brought us a nice box of strawberries that came right up from the 'Sunny South' so he said, where they have been stopping this winter, he seems a generous sort and brings us something nice every little while. We had a shortcake for supper and it tasted fine they had an unusually good flavor and were very sweet.
When Johnnie Wayland went to Sharon this week he run across Alice. She was nursing, taking care of an old lady by the name of Sandborn. They advertised for a nurse and out of 58 applicants they picked her out, and Jack told them they picked out the right one.
I have just made an orange and banana pudding for dinner, and we are cooking cabbage and turnip, and prepared sausage meat to go us for Sunday dinner and I must get about frying my meat pretty soon now. The sun keeps peeping out occasionally so I dont think the snow storm will ammount to much just enough to cover up the ice and make it dangerous footing. Pa brought home a half bushel of bawldwins from Dykimans Wednesday and they were nice apples he was apple hungry I think.
We have got a new percolator its a dandy one our old pot sprung a leak, so Pa brought one home, its alioninum setigon shape and a glass cover, we are waiting for it to percol so we can have dinner.
I hope your land lady dont leave you again as you are having your suppers prepared and ready when you reach home tired and cold these winter days. Chip ought to be turned off he is a disgrace and I should feel like telling him so too Yours Ma.
