The Griffins are going down Tuesday to Ednas. I have been busy at my crocheting and shall send in fifteen packets tomorrow then I begin on white yarn for a change. Maude and Ralph came up last Sunday night to talk over the situation with Pa and were pretty well stirred up over what they went through with Smiths lawyer. Leonard kept pretty still sizing up things, and the next day he was doing a little talking with Pa he thinks they are at their wits end and are thinking of driving Ralph to compromise but I guess Ralph will stand pat, and Rudolph Winer was a mason and knew Pa in the lodge, he also came from the same country as Jocobus ein Johns and was surprised to know that you were acquainted with them also he is a Harvard man so some time when he is down to Washington as he knows where you are it's possible that he may look you up.

Well this is a cold sunless day with the wind blowing strong from the north. A storm is expected soon either rain or snow. We have had a fairly good winter so far without much snow.
