Your Ma says I must write and thank you for every one of the presents which I do. and am pleased with them all and shall duly make use of them more so of the blk silk when cut up for my throat. in the cold, windy days on the team as I am expecting to have a lot of these days if it continues as the winter has started out clear cold. not much wind to day only around 12. above. now in the afternoon are a prediction of 0°and below for to morrow morning, but I can stay in side I hope. Yesterday was the last Saturday we were billed to be in the Office for complaints. So we shall have until the last of Jan with little to do. I rather expected to meet to day to work on the Britton apresal [[appraisal]] again but have not heard from Ralph as yet  it is most to have to have the inventory sent to Dedham.  Chrstmas [[Christmas]] Royce Called me up to borrow my Long Ladder to raise his wire attached to one of the Trees back of barn. So I took out two and helped climb and raised it some 10ft  he seemed glad for help as he could not do it alone. he handed me two boxes of his best Honey. I wish you and Sid had them for I do not care very much for Honey any  way. Ralph and Maude did sure have

I believe "the team" he is referring to may be the ones going from house to house getting names and residences job descriptions, as mentioned before. So he would be outside walking in the cold. Please look at the part about the black silk and the next few words. not sure about words before it being right. Christmas is not the first name of the person, Pa is saying on Christmas, Royce called. The date of letter is 28th Dec.
