Dear Doris-

Your boxes came throu [[through]] all safe and in good condition one and the holly Thursday noon also the [[rod?]] and Lenas the day after. It was a bad week first mild and rainy, then grew cold and everything icy, and after clearing, the wind got out North West, and we are freezing. 0 weather downtown it was 2 below at noon it went up to 2 above 0. so today we are burning coal for all we are worth in order to be comfortable. I hope no such weather exists with you, for it would be dreadful to show them around in the open car its too bad this came on at such a time and its to be hoped that you have got over your up set from ice cream eating. During the week I made three wreathes for the cemetery, one princes pine, and two evergreen. but Pa isnt going up this weather to put them on the lot.

My room is trimmed up with pine boughs, with your holly in vases, and barberries, they keep fresh in water a good long time, and give a Xmas look to the house besides.

I have sent in my yarn and Jackets for stock taking now. untill [[until]] after the holidays, and now am at work on a Jacket for Mrs. Dykeman; she had a ball of chinchilla yarn and was anxious to get one out of it. but there isnt enough, but she may be able to match it some where. It went father [[farther]] than I expected it would Pa has just been down to get another ball and I think it will be sufficient, and I can make a border all of one color.
