Pa feels pretty smart because he got his letter written down to the store first.

I received a letter from Alice one day this week. it seems that she is now in Everett again waiting for some thing to turn up in the way of work. its fortunate she has got her children to come home to meanwhile, even if they are methodists, all but Harry. he is the most sensible one of them all we think.

I mean to get my dress made now I am out of work, the one I bought of Lilly Drake. I suppose Lena will be out some time this week, but hope she waits untill it is warmer, she probably will go to Jimmies first.

I was dreading the long Saturday night evening ahead of me after watering the horse when I thought of going up stairs to read as it was nice and warm in the front chamber. I got to reading and it didnt seem any time at all before I heard him come home and bellow up the front stairs, "you gone to bed Lou" I came down and found the fire down cellar burned low, but it came up in less than half an hour, but through the night it was also chewed out, there was so much wind. the wind died out towards morning. and we have a sunny day to day. how I hope Ralph and Maude are having a good time. and are seeing a lot today, they were tickled to pieces to think they were going. and Ralph wanted to see Congress in session hope he went in time yesterday. I mean to go out some this week. well this is all for now I must do my dishes.
