Dear Doris
This day has begun with bright sun but cold and windy after the storm of yesterday has passed us bye. we had a warm week. but now there comes the cold wave which is always in its wake.
I suppose you are chief house maid by this time and that pudding is there at last. I hope it arrived in fair condition, for it was long on its way seems to me.
I got a present for Lena at the time I got the other things, for I found that she intended making presents this year and naturally she would get something for us as she intends to come out then.
I dont think that she will go over to her Aunt Maudes till after they get settled over Iva's troubles. as she doesnt care to get into their rows. they are funny people. this is her second husband and she is trying to get a divorce from him. Lena says he doesnt know anything so there you are, pity she hadnt stuck to the Irish man he knew enough. The old woman makes the trouble I think.
Well I am going to finish my jacket and make a wreath to go up on the cemetery lot to day.
