Dear Doris
I have just completed a reply to Lenas post card, to stop any further preparation of our coming out there to spend Xmas with her, made a couple of pies got my fish in to bake and now I will scribble a line or two, to get my breath before it is time to get in the taters and vegetables for dinner. I thought it looked like clearing off a minute or two ago, but now its clouded over

Edith Wayland is worse than ever
Pa came home last night saying she aches from her head to her heels a new gag and hesays it must be sciatica this time he feels sure Dr Swan will pronounce it such when he gets home, and says "God pity her if it is," the poor thing pity she has to live to be so bad. I guess they wont enjoy much Xmas this year. I wonder if you are all tired out, you may get sick fore you know it, look out you dont get cold this changable [[changeable]] weather, it was raw and awful damp early this morning.
