Mrs Blake was here Friday Ralph brought her up to see Mrs Clapp & she walked over, I supposed Evelyn is going back there to board as she finds it a better place for her beau to visit her. I think Mrs B has missed her women boarders coming and going and she was accomodating[[accommodating]] and did errands for her. Over accross[[across]] from us Gertrude has got in Mrs Saffords daughter, she married an indian they have a little girl two years old.
Mrs Griffin and Mrs Wilcox are both in Worcester now, but later on, they are going down to Baltimore for the winter so the house will be closed up for the season.
We had to laugh, it seems that Nelie promised Mrs Dam she would see to it that her name was cut into the Jabez Talbot stone and Arthur Talbot swears that he will give them the extent of the law if the dare to do it. She does not say any thing to him about it, but expects those stone cutters on any day to tackle it. Talbot got Pa to go to tell them what he would do if they started any such procedure, but he didn't see her, as no one was at home but Mrs Griffin, and I guess she will tell her and they will see the error of their ways before its too late.
We think it was a funny proposition on the part of Hannah Dam to expect any such a job, as she had it cut onto the second husbands stone. what was she thinking of after marrying and changing her name, she must have been crazy dont you think? well this is full of gossip as I have left the home news for Pa to tell when he gets time after his strenuous morning work. Alice saw Pa after he got home and asked him if he called on Alfred if he had called on them all, he wouldn't had time for anything else Yours Ma.
