our Roses excepting the Rambler are most gone that is just coming out I have not had to run the lawn mower for it is getting dry and the grass does not grow fast we do not know just where Lena is now but expect she will be at Thompson Island after the 15 of month I have been down to the Harris house a few times to listen to the NY convention say in the evening they have had a Hell of a time I was listening when a break was made for Smith and of all the Howling cheering and marching, it must have been Bedlem let loose I guess. They all did go home sick of such places I see by the paper they have discharged the Band and are trying to get some one Beside Smith & McAdoo to unite on but it will be no use. to take anybody for our Mass Man will be the next Presiden Easily can’t be beat
