I was down there. People are all flocking down to their shore cottages Fred Clapp told Pa that Frank S Capen had an extensive milk stand down to Brasit rock, he moves all of the cows every summer he must be getting rich fast. Freds family are going to move down to their cottage Wednesday. My dinner is all ready and Pa is no where to be seen, so I will write a little more. I see by the papers Washington yesterday was the hottest place on the map, so you must be still stewing too bad. here is Pa now. We have had two days this week of hot weather but the wind got around into the northeast and its been cool eversince. I have got throu making rugs and I dont know what to do next. Our Seringo [[Syringa]] bush is loaded with blossoms and the little one also had a few on it this year our red poppy is in full swing and the red bud is growing. the Hugonis rose bush looks fine. I transplanted the zenias [[zinnias]] and snap dragons this week and now my beds are full. You would hardly know the strawberry bed for I spaded in Sand around each one and they are growing and blossoming with many sets we think they are beginning to throw out runners aready. Mrs. Griffin gave us some dahlias they also are growing. just before the storm I spaded in wood ashes all around the gladiolas and also the corn. and put some of the dirt out of the hot bed around my lettuce plants and then I smoothed it off and planted more seed in the hot bed so you see I am a good farmer. To day I made up some root bear a doz bottles, the first lot of the season. Pa is trying to get a nap but the children are so noisy I doubt if he will be able to. There are too many in this neighborhood for comfort. I dread this summers vacation. Hazel Drake graduates this year and she wants to go to work to earn money to go to Burdetts.
so long Ma.
