Stoughton June 8th 1924

Dear Doris

We are having cool weather still our tomatoes, three doz of them, are set out in the garden and are looking fairly well in spite of the change. I have kept them from wilting so far and think now after four days, they will be all right. my zenias are up in the hot bed and there will be enough to fill all the beds where the golden glow was dug up and all. I have stayed right at home all the week and made a rug. Pa has put them on the floor in the front room and there are ten of them, Mame did'nt see how I ever made so many. She stayed to dinner and to supper and went home just before 9'Oclock. she said that Ethel was at Ocean city at some park, he is in the ice cream business has a concession there (Maryland). The book came with the letter Friday noon. Mame went to the hospital the last time her face troubled her, intending to have that nerve removed but they advised filling it up again with the alchohol. its a very delicate operation and they hate to undertake it. the two nerves are very closely conected and they are supposed to know which one is the one to remove. we are all of us fortunate not to have that trouble to contend with.
