New Orleans, Feb 1st, 1867
Bro. Dobson;

I have been elected "Corresponding Secretary" of the "Orphan's Home", & it becomes my duty to answer your letter to Dr. Newman:

If you can find any way to get the children here we can take them - if you can get the Freedmen's Bureau to send them to the La line. The Bureau of this State will transport them the rest of the way. We have no means of transportation. If you cannot get the children here, there is an excellent orphan's home at Lauderdale Miss. kept by the people from Indiana. They will be glad to get them. Send them there.

Let me hear from you again.

Yours &c

N. L. Bakerman
Cir. Sec. Orphans Home.
