Dear Sir - Your favor of 23rd ult. by Henry Pickett has been received. In consequence of a general retainer of our firm, by Mr. Pickett (in whose custody the children of Henry Pickett now are) for all his legal business, we were unable to attend to case under Writ of Habeus Corpus against him. But for this, we would very willingly have undertaken the case. We have however recommended, Henry Pickett, to Mr R S Holt of this place, who is a gentleman of great personal integrity and inferior to no one, as a lawyer in this district.  In his hands, the business of Henry Pickett, will be conducted with fidelity and capacity. It could certainly be entrusted to no abler hands, in this county. We regret that our business relations to Micajah Pickett prevent us personally from undertaking this matter. We are
