The number of destitute concerning when we have thus far gained information is one hundred and forty four, consisting chiefly of widow women and their children. If supplies are to be sent then they ought to be forwarded at once. There is suffering here such as this people never experienced before, not even during the war. It is confined to a class who least of all ought to be subjected to the pains and penalties of war.

Supplies for this County should be shipped in about equal proportions to Forest on the Mobile & Ohio, and Canton on the Miss. Cen. R.R. consigning at the former station to Waller C. Brewer and at the latter to Henry W Warren.

The Board of Registration will take pleasure in distributing the supplies to the needy & those alone.

The freedmen of this county are as a general thing peaceful and industrious setting a good example to some who having a whiter skin
