Dear Miss Thorpe:

It is a pleasure to write this letter to you on behalf of the Carlisle Jaycees concerning "Jim Thorpe Day" to be held on May 10, 1969 as a day to honor Thorpe as the greatest athlete.

In a recent conversation with Mr. Wardecker, he said you were planning to visit Carlisle in the near future. The Carlisle Jaycees would appreciate your attendance in Carlisle for our "Kick Off Day".

A number of activities are being planned for this memorable occasion.

Enclosed is a news release concerning our plans for this project.

We are also inviting Mr. Gus Welch to join us on this occasion.

The Carlisle Jaycees are looking forward to hearing from you and hope you will join us on May 10th.

Sincerely,

Fred Cerasaro
