President Ford recently personally requested the International Olympic Committee to reinstate world famous Jim Thorpe, Sac and Fox athlete, as an amateur athlete in good standing for the years 1909-1912.

Thorpe's medals, won in Olympic competitions, were thrown out because of a technicality.
