Stoughton March 30th 1930

Dear Doris

Instead of rain we have a clear sun shiny day. our clock got us up at six this morning, striking an hour ahead. Pa had not noticed, untill he had the fire in our kitchen range started.

I have been sewing all the week, it is still March with its freezing blast. Pa was going to bring up his paper & some butter in his pocket here he is now. our cat bird built her nest in the black berries, over Georges side, we found it after the leaves got off the bushes. Our little song sparrow is singing early. his nest will be near us I am sure. George McGarvey does not want Pa to take away much more in back of him, on account of the birds nesting around his house. he found a stray parrot in a tree
