Stoughton March 26th 1930

Dear Doris
I have just got my ashes emptied & my fires started for the day. & will get this letter written before cooking for the dinner
We had a nice spring rain & it lasted pretty much all night, with a thunder shower thrown in, & so this morning it looks like breaking any minute. this rain was very welcome to towns people, who stood in fear of being burnt out of house & home any time. they caught four boys who were setting them, one owned up to setting ten. two were put in the lockup Saturday night where they stayed over night for the safty of the town. our neighbor below us was the ring leader. last year he was doing time in some reform school for the same business & so it will go harder for him
