Dear Doris,
A rainy dull morning but south wind favorable to its clearing off later in the day. the ground is full of water where the snow has been. I have tried to get dirt for tomato boxes, but its mud in the garden patch + Pa is going to try under the barn for some to day. Its time the seed were planted now.
I have begun on my dress you gave me Christmas. very pretty goods + its going to look rich if it turns out as I hope to have it. I have got such a head cold its all I want to do, to write my letter.
I have received this last week a welcomed letter from Alice, the old gentleman where she is seems to be failing + is liable to go any time she thinks, he is hard to take
