Stoughton Feb 19th 1930

Dear Doris-

This is a cloudy mornings look like rain. Sunday + Monday were the coldest days when the thermometer was far below Zero down to West Stoughton 14° below + Sunday it blew a gale all day + it was hard work to keep warm, but we survived it. Pa shoveled out to the road, + came in, he got enough of it + said it was too cold to do any more. the front door one was put through the next day but not by me. I managed to get down to town meeting in the afternoon but the darn paddies got there just the same. they turned out Charley Curtis + got in Sheean for select man + Charley Farrel for Finance Committee also another one for the school board.
