Dear Doris-

We woke up in the midst of a snow storm + found the ground white. it has been chilly all day and night so are in hopes this will take it out of the air. the jays are screaming + the little birds are hovering around in the forsythia bushes. hungry + cold. Pa has just shaved + gone up stairs to change his clothes it is just 9'o clock + bells are peeling forth their joyful melody. + so is Poor Jack, or rather his accompanyament. I have made two bed quilts + one is put together with its lining + cotton all ready on the front chamber bed put together to knot. I took the old quilt that you brought home for me to mend up which was pretty much worn + the cotton was all as good as ever it was.
