Arthur L. Holmes 290 Walnut Street Staughton, Mass Nov 10th 1929 Dear Doris, a pleasant day though cold & frosty. in spite of so much frost my crysanthemums [[chrysanthemums]] still look fresh. I have added to my stock I was down town friday afternoon & on the corner opposite the Drake school I saw a row of very double white ones. I immediately stopped at the house & found only a little boy at home & gave him five cents for a small root about twelve inches high & in bloom. I felt cheeky but there was a plenty left,& the little boy was satisfied & so was I. We used to have them in our garden but during one severe winter they all died
