Dear Doris,
We got your letter & the babies picture, last night, when I got home from Mrs Dykemans. the picture was fine a very natural pose, I see you have got her some little socks, she looks very cunning reaching up for what you are holding out for her. I think her hair has grown longer. I havent been over to see Mrs Blake since she moved over to Ralphs, but Ralph brought Pa home & inquired after the baby the first thing Pa said, they both take quite an interest in little Betty. I was making up the rest of my tomatoes yesterday, as they were touched by frost & so were going by. Mrs Dykeman gave me quinces so they will be the next thing to tackle. I am going to do them up with Northern Spies this time as I have no pears & I think they will be better flavored. Mrs D was moving out into her new sun porch she had most of her plants there & her stand of gold fish there also it is open into the kitchen and looks very cosy she says she is going to sit there to work this winter. She told me that Jack gave her a hundred dollars towards it, they are very good to her & she goes there over the week
