Stoughton October 13th 1929

Dear Doris,

After three days of cold freezing weather, we are again enjoying our warm sunny days. everything in the gardens were taken, as the thermometer went down to 20 degrees above. my big fern was frozen, as we wernt smart enough to take it in the first day. we managed to pick the grapes & tomatoes after they were chilled, but not very bad. Yesterday being a holiday Pa has managed to keep pretty busy doing the rest of the harvesting. I made my apple jelly Thursday forenoon. Griffins funeral being in the afternoon, I hustled around & got the bread baked, just in time to attend, but felt pretty tired, as the jellie had fretted me
