Sagiyo a young man of perhaps 26 or 27, speaks Indonesian very well, seems very 'modern' and urbanised
has just returned from a month in Paris, presumably for an exhibition (sponsored by whom?)
confirmed that are 10 houses in Gendeng which make wayang [[kulit?]], and says this constitutes only 5% of the houses in the village; remainder are pure farmers

Sagiyo also owns sawah, but says that he pays other people from the same village to work his land - claims that he doesn't even know how to work in the fields and has never done it
