62 (with Jako) June 27, 1978 KAJAR to Kajar - finishing form A land is redish brown and stony, with whitish yellow stones, sharp edges and hard [DIAGRAM] whitish yellow stones are limestone - acc. to Pak Rianto topsoil only 2 M. deep nad then limestone outside of Kajar on the Nglipar 63 road is a limestone kiln for processing (kasst area) stones are also taken for floors and above-ground foundations of houses soil is fertile enough but must be cleaned acc. to Park Dukoh Kedung II land is about 1/3 stones and 2/3 land limestone can hold water and molds quickly, turning dark when wet stream called "Avak Sungai Oya" (child of the river Oya) runs thru Kajar area are at least 3 natural springs in Kajar - Kedung area visited 2 of them; #6 on map rather large and used for bathing and washing clothes #8 consists of 2 cisterns lined with very old stone slabs beneath a large banyon tree - saw people picking up oil drums full of water and taking by pikul back to homes for household use - depth of wells varies from 10-30 meters
