- he is a pegawai Sastra Seni 1 K/P - salary 13,290 per month + 50K of rice a month; under govn's KB program he only gets rice for first 3 children

- Pak Mardi goes to work from 7-1:30 Mon-Thur, goes home early Fri. + Sat.
-over works overtime stenciling (mimeograph) - works overtime rata 14 jam a week
- Bu Mardi doesn't have any others work
- noone in the family even works as a buruh tani
- get assistance for PKAK (Pembinaan Kesejateraan Anak + Keluazga - the Indonesian name for Foster Parents Plan)
- the oldest child is registered under this program + gets aid in form of money 3000 Rp per month
(later learned that almost every family has one child registered as a PKAK child - acc to Edy they sometimes get larger sums from sponsor parents abroad - in Kota sede also many children registered)
- Bapak comes from Kec. Sewon in Bantul but his wife from Kasongan
