Pak Amat says are now 75-80 HH [[crossout]] w/2-3 persons per HH which setor matting to him; not all of these HH are in Malangan
he says market for decorative basketry about the same he predicts that, at least for the next 10 years, the local supply of bamboo will be enough

are using permanent hot water dyes which learned from Balai Batik, Jogja- buy the dyes in power form from Toko N. Jaya wh/ Chinese-owened; dyes made in R.R.T.

Pak Amat says there are 125 HH in village ((compares w/ 144 in 1977))
has been no rice pest (hamah) since 1980 and have had good harvests, 5 times every 2 yrs
still women + children who make the truntum + setor once every 5 days (acc. to Jav. calendar)

Pak Amat says he pays 200-500 Rp per truntum + one woman can earn about 4000 Rp every five days ((= 24,000 a mo.)) 
acc. to Pak Amat the Gunung Penuh factory now employs about 40 persons, but has never fully recovered from loss of 4 top managers in car accident
headed by a Ch. named Pak Kamato, and the 4 managers killed also Chinese
