Dear Doris

Two days of dull weather St Patricks day was a driving snow storm, the wind blowing a gale from the N East.. but today its half pleasant to very still. I am feeling much better & guess I have got the best of my cold & Pa is pretty much over his also. I hope now we have seen the last blizzard of the year. The almanac says spring begins the 21st & hope it does, for it certainly has been a hard one here, with lots of sickness. I long to get out & breathe the fresh air once more. The people in the new house are riding most of the time, they hardly ever are here at home, they have a brother who is a priest, there are three children, so Mort says. I didn't know of him, but he lives away & has never to my knowledge, been home. Mort likes them & says they are nice people. he gave one painting lessons & the other is an expert stenographer & bookeeping & all such work but they live like people who have plenty althou there is a very heavy mortgage on the house & in his name.

we don't know these days we cannot tell how much a person is worth, by the style they live.
