Maude is making fancy work. she says she is going to do for herself now. she has made it for other folks now she is doing for just herself. I guess she is thinking of the new bride coming home & so fixing up for them, to see them in better shape perhaps. they feel very anxious over Henrys getting a job at the cooperative bank, but time will tell. the bank wont raise any more wages these times & they will have to sacrifice accordingly. his insurance business they could live on comfortably, if possible, I dont think people need so many luxuries these times. they could do with less. but thats no ones business you would say. but theirs. but Ralph has had a good many heavy bills with their schooling & all there is no doubt about that. I got a jar of cream yesterday & I must whip it up for a washington pie filling, & it takes twenty minutes or more. then I am going to have some roast lamb & turnips for our dinner. Some time to day we have got to write to Lena she must think weve forgotten her by this time. I wish she could live there without that Miss Garland as they tyrannize each other.
