Dear Doris,
I am hunting for a place that is comfortable enough so to start the letter + have located my self up stairs in the front chamber in the sun.  Pa is reading his Sunday paper down by the kitchen stove.  People who call this a mild winter must find some way of heating different from coal. Oil I rather think must be the stuff, but it costs so like all creation that not many can afford to install it say nothing about the expense of running it.  but theres one good thing about these cold waves, they dont hang on long.  well such is life.  We are free from colds for which we aught to feel thankful.  Old Moses is the sick one.  we have learned up to Nellies, a trained nurse has been there several weeks Pa asked Mary + she said it was an intestinal trouble + little Francis called him on the mend.  I was thankful it was not Nellie that was sick. she is
